Ankle Tattoos
Ankle TattoosIt seems like it's always summer in the south and I'm seeing a lot of ankle tattoos.
One mistake people often make when getting a tattoo, is putting it on a joint, that bends, flexes or wrinkles. If you are going to tattoo in that area, have your tattoo artist raise the tattoo by a few inches, so it is not on the part of the ankle that moves back and forth. That movement, among other things causes premature ageing of your tattoos. PainAlso, getting tattooed directly on your ankle bone hurts like crazy. If you see someone at your tattoo establishment writhing in pain, they are more than likely getting tattooed over a joint, bone or over their spine. It can be difficult to control involuntary movement when you're getting a tattoo directly over the bone. Which means your tattoo artist has to be extra careful in inking you. Ankle tattoos are usually requested by women, because they emphasis the legs and can be hidden by opaque stockings. However, if you are in the southwest and work for a company with a no visible body art policy, wearing stockings that heavy in the heat of the summer to cover your ankle tattoo can be cumbersome. Aftercare for Ankle and Leg TattoosAfter you get an ankle tattoo or a foot tattoo, you'll notice that it bleeds a little more that tattoos on other parts of your body. That's because it's located at the end of your body (extremity.) Gravity is forcing blood towards your feet and ankle. When you get home, lay down with your feet up on a pillow, elevating your ankle tattoo.
Ankle tattoos can be small pieces of body art or bold wrap around pieces. The choice is up to you! |
